Consultancy

With more than 20 years of consulting experience in advanced supply chain planning, Twinlog belongs to the most experienced consultants in this domain. Twinlog has experience in all phases of improving supply chain planning – from conception to implementation. We do not only create slides, we also bring systems live and provide support. Twinlog has managed vendor selection processes, carried out architecture studies, and reviews of production control frameworks. Twinlog is recognised by peer companies as a top supply chain planning professional.

Implementation

Twinlog has participated in more than 40 implementation projects related to supply chain planning & optimization. Many of such projects concerned the implementation of advanced planning & scheduling systems to improve supply chain performance. The role of Twinlog is typically to create the functional design of the planning system, based on the business processes and objectives of the customer. Twinlog is usually involved from the initiation to the go-live  of a project, and support activities.

Architecture

Implementing large changes to supply chain planning requires an overall vision. When objectives are clear, these need to be translated into an architecture that answers questions such as: which planning levels do we need as a company? How should a level interact with others? How should a planning level be supported? For example, how do we make sure the outcome of a S&OP process (Sales & Operations Planning) is fed into our order acceptance? Twinlog has carried out many of such architecture studies, to pave the way for projects to implement systems or business process changes.

Knowledge

The knowledge of Twinlog is rooted in academic research into the use of planning decision support. Today, Vincent Wiers teaches the course Advanced Planning & Scheduling to masters students of the Eindhoven University of Technology. He has published many journal articles and three books on this topic, and in the field of the human factor in production control, he has done some of the pioneering research. He has been a visiting professor on Supply Chain Management at the University of Innsbruck.

Expertise

The expertise of Twinlog has been applied to a multitude of supply chains: Metals (Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper), Transportation, Tobacco, Animal Food, Meat, Broadcasting, Aircrafts, Lithography Systems, Packaging Materials, Car Components, Rail Projects & Maintenance, Paint (Decorative and Automotive), Healthcare, Plastic Tube Components, Government Workforce. Twinlog is owned and run by Vincent Wiers. Vincent (1969) obtained his Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management Science at the Technical University of Eindhoven (TU/e), specializing in Information Systems for Production and Inventory Control. He conducted a Ph.D. project at the same university on the Human Factor in Production Control, which was concluded by a thesis in 1997. Since 1997, he has been working for Bolesian, Cap Gemini and CMG, respectively. In 2003 he founded Twinlog. As a part-time academic, he is employed by TU/e as an Industrial Fellow and he has been employed by the University of Innsbruck as a Visiting Professor in 2012. Since 2012, he is at TU/e responsible together with Prof. Ton de Kok for the post-masters course on Advanced Planning & Scheduling.
